  • Ahh..first post in a LONG time.

It's looking like another exciting year for politics! Thank you Ah-nold and Mayor Murphy.

Hmm....I now publicly endorse Steve Francis for mayor. (He's also backed by the San Diego Republican Party) He's a businessman who's been very successful and has experience as a Nevada state legislator in the late 80's!

  • I find it ironic, and awfully sad  that the biggest news (or one of the top news) the day after historic elections (like...50 years after the last time it happened) in Iraq. It's just really disturbing that a trial of a highly (in)famous child molester gets so much attention just after some people in Iraq (mainly the sunni in Central Iraq) walked up to 8 miles in defiance to the insurgents to vite in the first truely democratic elections in 50 years. I know CNN still makes the elections front and center news, but I'm apalled that most other news networks casts the 'aftermath' of the elections as a side story.

Oh well, I can't change the media...I hope that Sunday's elections begins an era of demoratic (as opposed to totalitarian) peace in Iraq.

  • Well Etiquette Expert made its official list of the Most Polite Cities (in the US). The top city was Charleston, SC, and San Diego placed second.

    http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/01/14/polite.cities.ap/index.html

What I thought was interesting was that 5 of the top ten, including the top 2 were strong Republican cities. 3 were basically toss-up cities in the 2004 election that went just slightly for Kerry. Only Seattle and Philadelphia were the cities that were heavily Democratic.

It was a highly interesting note that I wanted to share. Perhaps Democratic manners dipped a bit in 2004...I dunno...Itjust seemed interesting, and I just wanted to share it.
